• The physical and chemical structure of the Earth and extraterestrial materials are the result of processes that have taken place since the beginning of the universe.
• We investigate natural materials by studying the composition and structure of the material, dating the age of the material, and reproducing the formation of the material.
• We constructed the `Comprehensive Analytical System for Terrestrial and Exterretrial Meterials (CASTEM)' which describes materials through elucidation of the absolute age and the distribution of elements and isotopes within the materials.
• Eizo describes the analytical results from samples collected by the Hayabusa spacecraft using CASTEM, and outlines the analytical plan for samples to be returned by the Hayabusa2 spacecraft.
