Yunchao has recently jointed the institute as a postdoctoral researcher working on non-traditional stable isotope geochemistry over the topics of mantle evolution, subduction zone and mantle plumes. He got his PhD degree from a joint PhD program between Chinese Academy of Sciences and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution.
The title of the PhD thesis was “Using thallium isotopes as tracers to investigate recycled crustal materials at subduction zones”. He will continue to pursue the aim of application of novel stable isotopes to further study crust cycle in subduction zones and mantle heterogeneity. In addition, he is also interest in the evolution history of the solar system and planetary accretion.
